Ecological Sustainability, Social Justice, Community, Dialogue, Solidarity, Compassion...
These are some of the things I cherish most dearly, and what I seek to actualize in my personal, professional, and community life.
Nice words, but what do they mean? Much has been written on each of these. Rather than seeking definitions, this website gives you a window into how these concepts animate my life, how I think, what matters to me.
I consider these concepts as ideals to work towards, as works in progress. As fallible human beings, we cannot expect to be constant paragons of virtue. But I believe there is a certain humility, nobleness and - dare I say it - faith (in oneself, in humanity) in holding these out as things to live by, even as we (I) frequently fall well short of the ideal.
Sometimes life’s lessons are learned alone, on a mountain top. More often, I find, they arise in the wonderful, messy fields of relationship and community: in other words, in our interactions with others. I have learned so much from others. So please, take a moment to send me an email, a reflection on something I’ve said that resonated for you.
